Day 1: Journey, Houseboat Check-in & Backwaters
Early Morning Theni District Departure & Foothill Sightseeing Start early (around 6:00 AM) from Theni. Stop briefly at a Theni highlight like Vaigai Dam or Kumbakkarai Falls to break the journey.
Travel Theni to Alleppey Long Drive to Alleppey Drive approximately 6-8 hours (via Kumily/Ettumanoor). Head straight to the Alleppey houseboat jetty.
Midday Alleppey Backwaters Houseboat Check-in & Cruise Board your houseboat (around 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM). The cruise starts, navigating the narrow canals, paddy fields, and Vembanad Lake. Lunch is served onboard.
Evening Alleppey Backwaters Anchor & Village Walk The houseboat anchors by 5:30 PM. Enjoy the sunset and the quiet backwaters. You may take a short walk into a nearby village. Dinner is served onboard.
Day 2: Coastal Town & Relaxation
Morning Alleppey Backwaters Final Cruise & Check-out Enjoy breakfast and a short morning cruise (8:00 AM – 9:00 AM). Check out from the houseboat (9:30 AM).
Late Morning Alleppey Town Alappuzha Beach & Lighthouse Check into your hotel/resort. Visit the iconic Alappuzha Beach and climb the historic Alappuzha Lighthouse for panoramic views of the coastline.
Lunch Alleppey Town Seafood Lunch Try Kerala’s famous Karimeen Pollichathu (Pearl Spot Fish) at a local restaurant.
Afternoon Alleppey Area Marari Beach / Coir Museum Spend the afternoon relaxing at the tranquil Marari Beach, or visit the International Coir Museum to learn about the region’s main industry.
Evening Alleppey Town Local Exploration Wander through the town, visiting the Revi Karunakaran Memorial Museum or shopping for local handicrafts and spices.
Day 3: Heritage, Travel & Departure
